It’s been a busy Christmas but an enjoyable one.
There is always a bit of theatre, drama and entertainment at this time of year.

However creating a website for someone who is on that stage regularly has been the easiest and enjoyable of creative processes.

Embarrassed Vatican officials have recalled medals commemorating the first year of Pope Francis’s reign after spelling Jesus’s name wrong.

The official Vatican medals went on sale with the son of God’s name spelt as ‘Lesus’ before they were swiftly removed when the spelling error was spotted.

Around 6,000 of the gold, silver and bronzed medals, featuring the Pope’s motto on his coat of arms, were created by the Italian State Mint.

A card dropped through our letterbox recently.
The card offered a service that was perfectly timed as we had spent several weeks trying to find the right person to help us get our network up to speed and reliable at all times of the day or night.

Gary found the problems. Ordered the parts and organised the delivery.
Gave us a schedule of days he could do the work.
He arrived. Hard wired us in (CAT6) and installed the necessary new netgear kit. The whole job was finished over two days.

He also helped with clearing out old wiring and connectors. Tidying up cables all around the outside of the house. Very neat and tidy and looking at the other quotes, we had for the same job, very reasonable.

No fuss, No drama. No dead WiFi spots. No slow Broadband.

We still get a thrill out of paper stock. We still get a thrill out of seeing clients work coming off press. The noise, the smell of inks, and the sheer magic of the process of craftsmanship involved.

We are seeing more design commissions that can create something of quality. UNIQUE. BESPOKE. Shorter run high items with ownership of the Event materials. Our thrill then also involves ensuring our clients can get all touchy and feely with the beautifully finished printed item. It’s a trend that is growing.

One of these briefs. A bespoke Wedding invitation had us researching into Hungarian culture and Folk Lore
Each invitation had the wedding couples monogram and invitation artwork personalised for each guest.

We also produced a set in Hungarian and another set in English.
The approved design has now been used across the whole wedding theme.

A mercurial thing is graphic design and creativity. Fluid thinking into successful fluid layouts seems an easy progression if you know what you are doing. So here’s to learning all about it. Exciting to see how we can integrate what we do, for a digital platform, with software packages we use all the time.

For the last three weeks we have searched for the right person to quote for some building work for our new studio.
Selecting people for the job has taken a bit of time. We eventually chose a small family firm who are local. From the minute they saw what was needed they did all their thinking as if joined using a ‘Vulcan mind meld’. They listened, discussed, solved and outlined the best solution. They also made sure that it was what WE wanted all in about ten minutes. Meeting over.
An email arrived the very same day with a schedule to get everything done.
Not the cheapest price we had been quoted but, in all of our experience in decision making, it felt right, it felt good.

Trust and gauging goodness in people cannot be an electronic decision. It’s always nice to meet with people. Shake hands. It’s a good thing, a trust thing.
